God's Quill
God's Quill
Written: by Tom Wright
1999
I would to God,
That I might be
His "Quill" each day.
I'd look to Him
In prayer,
For things to say.
That though in flight,
I'd seek His will
In things I write,
Having no skill.
For what Is A Poem?
But letters
Flowing from one's heart
to printed page.
Black, of no worth,
From thoughts,
Forever doomed to age.
Until at last, God,
Gives them birth.
Then grants insight,
That I, "God's Quill"
Will know
When all is right.
For through mere words,
Simple though they be.
If, God, has shed His light,
They're born of Him
And not of me.
