I once knew a guy who wouldn't even change his own baby's diaper; he'd yell for his wife to do it, every time. She did everything; I was so glad when she left him. Did you know him too? Well penned.

The problem lies with the modern way of living...in my youth we knew and understood what discipline meant; can't say I was ever spoilt, and we grew up with a sense of duty towards our elders and ourselves. We worked hard for every cent...and we were proud of it! Maybe that's why we were always happy. Regards // paul

For sure, not too many people of our generation were spoiled. Thanks for your visit and comment, Paul.

people who study politics should also study social science and socialism...how to maintain a basic middle class consumer society (it's not about a dog eat dog world either...that is bullshit)

It winds everyone up when they strut around thinking the world owes them something Everything I own I've worked for and proud of the fact. Well written Line. Tom.

Yes, we are of that generation. It's nice to know I'm not the only one who thinks that way, Tom.

Nope, not this baby boomer. I had to work very hard to get ahead, I notice this mostly with the millennials. I don't think they know what hard work is at all. A factual piece written well Line! : )

Thanks for your visit and comment, Connie. Never mind "hard" work, many don't know what work is at all. O well, I often think we babyboomers grew up in the best of times - but maybe it was just another type of craziness. Either way, I wouldn't change our babyboomer years for any other.

Yeah! Who are those people anyway? ---Sounds to me like every college-educated generation, starting with the Boomers, that has come down the pike lately. Maybe college is the problem, not the solution... (Just a thought). :) gw

I think it starts at the teenage years and many choose not to outgrow, there seems to be less and less incentive especially if teenagers (lasting well into their 30's) can live with parents and count on getting bailed out every time they 'need' money because we don't need money, right?!
