Globe

We bought our son a globe way back When he was just a boy. He loved to learn; we thought it would Be something he’d enjoy. He spun it ‘round from time to time To find a certain place, But it’s been years since anyone Has moved it from its space. Until today, when carefully I took it from its shelf And after wiping off the dust, I spun it ‘round myself. Some countries’ names are different now From ones they one time had But my grandkids might enjoy this globe That once engrossed their dad.

This is so true, nothing stays the same geographically either.

A lovely write melding nostalgia into new hope. I always liked globes anyway, but more so since I discovered that some countries are artificially enlarged on flat maps (though I don’t remember why that is done). Nice one. Terry

Wonderful verse, Ilene. Globes have always fascinated. Sometime, I invite you to pull up one of my concoctions titled "The Globe" Bob

Proof that the earth is not flat lol. Used to love looking at them finding out where everywhere was, the net has killed off that form of learning.. Tom
