a child casually consumes cotton candy face to face with the deadly animal only 4” of glass wall keeping them from being prey We got married thinking that it might solve the problem of loneliness, only to find a glass wall at the tiger exhibit and now we are face to face with a very different species

haha, I read your response to me down here. I was interpreting this as something much worse than what you had been referring to. Tis better to encounter a strange animal from earth than realize you married a creature from a totally different planet! haha

oh this is so very interesting and speaks to many people! (I do not think it's about you and your wife though. I sure hope not) Another great write, John!! I had forgotten to see your poem before I buzzed off Soup. So I came back on to see a few of your poems. Now back to "the Messiah" a really cool new Netflix series.

Well, ahem, it kind of was about my own marriage, but not in a way that is demeaning to my wonderful bride. It's more a take on the surprise of coming into marriage naively and finding out how different the sexes (like tigers and children) are. Didn't mean to equate her with a deadly animal, but I can see how it kind of looks that way... lol! Thanks for the kind words, my friend
