Giving Second Chances
Giving Second Chances
Some people get wound up in knots when things happen
Deciding to hold it against the weather, or other humans.
Irritated and angry already, they explode like tar-filled fireworks.
Splashing meanness and hotness all over their enemies
Which sometimes is anyone within ear or eye shot.
I have learned to stay clear of these people.
I carefully choose my tribe, my friend-family….
Sticking with people who are calm and polite.
Even these people can reach the end of a frayed rope.
When it happens, I jump out of the way,
but I give them another chance.
Because their past behaviors have shown me they deserve one.
