Notes About The Poem

       Brian's 1415 Contest  ~  September 25, 2025

Gilded Sea

Amber were the rays of morning sun.
Slowly, it rose above dawn's horizon,
warming waves beneath cloudy skies.
Its gilded reflection rippled over the sea
and like flames, blazed its way to shore.

Lin, you have made the sunrise seem more beautiful than many might perceive it to be. There's a lot going on that we never get to see. Hard to imagine this happens constantly around the globe. Smiles!!!

The slow motion of sunrise with it’s imagery is just beautiful. Congrats, Lin!

Thank you, Kim. The beauty found in sunrise is even more lovely to me than a sunset.

Love the sea, and your description. That I miss, living closer to desert now. Going back to my Mediterranean ancestors I guess. Great grandfather went down with his tall ship in a storm. Was a tough life, for the seaman and family having to carry the load when he was working away from home for long stretches.

Wonderful comments like yours makes up for the lack of others. I truly appreciate your time of reading and leaving me your thoughts, Joe. Merci. Thank you for sharing your family history. The sea can be a lover but sometimes shows no mercy.
