Gifts

Although I daily fall into a rut, I thank my God for all that is a gift. You could grow sad and down with crying but this world is full of many things that lift. Look at a joyful tiny child at play or just stand still and watch our sun go down. Think quick of a good word that you can say to bring about a laugh out of a frown. This world is full of many happy things. God's wondrous gifts you'll find if you just try, king daffodils and hummingbirds that sing in April, August, March, May and July. Our world has good things waiting for us all, bringing joy, mainly to folks who think small. 7/12/20

Lovely sonnet, Janis. Filled with bits of wisdom about the gifts all around us. I used to love taking a walk with our boys when they were toddlers. They could find all manner of magic at their level. Congratulations!

Congratulations Janis! Your poem earned a distinguished place in my contest, due to the technical demands of this form it was a difficult contest to both enter and judge, your poem is full of beauty and inspiration. Very well done my friend, Emile.

Well done indeed. It is difficult to write without using an E. However this poem flows beautifully.

It most certainly is. We don't realize how much we use an e.
