Gathering my memories of you,
I surround myself
with your love.
I can recall
every smile, every hug,
and every joy.
Now that you have passed,
memories are all I have.
You were my friend,
my lover, my hope,
and my muse.
I fell in love
with all your little quirks,
and funny gestures long ago.
I remember our first kiss,
and how, from that moment on,
I felt that our souls were forever linked.
Life is like a runaway roller coaster
of which we have no control;
we know neither the destination
nor the course it will take.
But we are all along for the ride;
and the best we can hope for
is to choose who shares the seat with us.
And I'm ecstatic;
that you chose me, and I chose you.
Your ride is over, my love,
but I'll see you soon; mine is winding down.
