Gambling

Sometimes looking back can be step forward -- being certain of where not to return -- paths of experience already traveled. Grass-less ruts heavily trafficked by self and loser others -- I search for detours, missed games of chance -- though lectured long and wide on the pitfalls of gambling...God, our perfect example!~ His life and death wager of Free Will... What greater stake than a Soul? Each of us given one Gambit of Time!?

We all make detours in life. It gives us chance to rectify our past mistakes and avoid going to places travelled before which are not quite favourable for us. But sometimes as in gambling we like to take chances. The last part is the crux of all. We are given free will and it is up to us not to stake out soul. Very profound thoughts dear Joe.

So well said. We learn from errors. The spiritual ending was a reverent surprise. There are warnings and progress in your poem.

Dear Joe, you are right, we learn from past experiences, sometimes we reflect and pause, and make moves for better, and that should be the way of life, as everything in life, whether good or bad teaches us something. I love how youv written this and also the title is accurate and fitting, especially love the line “ already traveled. Grass-less ruts heavily trafficked by self and loser others --” deep! Pleasure reading you today. Sending you light always~

As a wise person once told me, who had to do many things she would have preferred not to, just to survive the war -- "no sin in being in a rut...the only sin is remaining there if given a chance to change. Blessings my friend.

One must think hard on this poem. Should we gamble our souls? I would not do it.

Nor would I. Thank you, Victor. Would God? I don't believe He would nor does. Blessings my friend.
