From the Outside In

Surely I've watched Surely I've seen Myself from the outside looking in And the sight was heart wrenching, my friends It makes me want life to end When I'm on the outside looking in Sometimes I want to feel again As if though I have self worth But all at once it hits me Oh, what pain, such hurt I never have a hand to lend I'm busy on the outside looking in I like to pretend to be pretty As if makeup is my disguise They say it's about the inside But everyone sees through their eyes Please, oh please, tell me when I can stray from the outside, not looking in Maybe if I die, my friends I won't have to worry about looking in again
