Emerald green, he gleams With rich, vibrant hues Sitting by the water, he dreams I wonder about his muse Singing to the wind and stars Joy seems his greatest skill Maybe he is really from Mars His voice is so loud and shrill Echoing faintly on the night Laughing in the shadowy dark Gracious, he shines so bright He should be someone’s trademark Lively and filled with inspiration Imagine the feeling I awaken It could be he is some relation To one who his heart has forsaken Whoever he loves, however he lives I know this frog is wise beyond his years He offers prayers and always gives Kisses to the girls with pig’s ears There is a saying that is told to us all “You must kiss a lot of frogs To find your prince charming” – Call Whoever you know to this frog’s monologue Fart-tastic Poetry Contest Sponsored by: Chantelle Anne Cooke September 14, 2021

At 5, my daughter had a frog she raised from a backyard tadpole in her garden. Croak he was named. I might copy your poem and send it to her at school She would love it. She loves to draw frogs. I am especially fond of your first stanza, it a great way to introduce your poem and its bright happy picture Ribbit! I enjoyed this poem a lot.

Regina, this is charming, delightful. A lot of us frogs out here -- I feel somewhat vidicated by your splendid poem. Don't believe I can ever again hear a frog croak...and not believe an angel has spoke.

Hello Regina ... I do enjoy listening to a chorus of frogs at sunset, although around here frogs attract snakes. My grandson told me a friend had to have warts removed because he kissed a frog - thank you for your fine poem Regina - Lindsay

This one made me smile, especially that last stanza and reference to prince charming.. You described a frog and its traits very well..
