He sits beside His Father,
God of the universe
A Friend of the lonely,
Welcoming hope and faith
He whispers peace to the soul
With tenderness and warmth
Giving generously to the heart
Feelings of acceptance and worth
He is so gentle and kind to us all
Giving friendship to the lonely
Sending out feelings of true love
That will always be sharing hope
He is the answer to every prayer
The guidance when we’re aware
He is the One who gave His life
So that we might be saved by grace
He is the friend of the lonely heart
Whatever need we have he gives all
With a sense of assurance and joy
In knowing we have salvation always
Jesus lights up my entire world
With His presence of sincere peace
Giving me a light to guide me at night
Through storms, depression and anxieties
He is a friend of the lonely
And He is always with me
Giving me second chances
To be a friend to the lonely, too
