Free will allows us to so choose
Between love and ego ruse
Soul would rise but it is pulled down
Desires that allure, our excuse
To what avail, fame and renown
Wayward ego, a foolish clown
Bemused by the world external
Stagnation therein, makes soul drown
Our true quest, is joy eternal
Not sorrow penned in life journal
Once head melds with heart, love aligned
Bliss found in the void internal
Thoughts rest, nothing to be divined
We play earth role, as is assigned
Enlivened by bliss in fullness
Leaving fears and desires behind
