Fragments To Remember

I sit upon a rock thinking, with the lush forest around me and I am weeping great spirit. This lush forest is burning down, burning down and I can do nothing to stop it. I fear for the animals __ the eagles and sparrows and all the creatures running and what of my wildflowers growing and the trees ? Every beautiful thing will soon be gone, gone and I must gather up fragments to remember before the ruin_ Will nature overcome this devastation ? O, great spirit let me hear your song and flute one more time, then, I must go or be part of the ruin . . . ______________________ June 7, 2018 Poetry/Verse/Fragments to Remember Copyright Protected, ID 18-1029-138-01 All Rights Reserved. Hi Ralph, thanks for the beautiful but my poem is not for a contest, it just is what I felt to write ~

Such desperate sadness, but on occasion it is natures way for renewal. Well done BW, best wishes in the contest...

This is a powerful poem BW. It makes me think of the wildfires we get here sometimes. Well written and expressed. :)
