Four Elements
Good earth to bring forth flax and grain
Cover to protect from the sun's rays
To fill my larder, to keep out the rain
A place for me at the end of my days
A breeze to cool and caress my brow
To stir the moisture, collect the cloud
The nature of this only He knows how
I give glory and praise to Him aloud
The gift of fire, a blessing and curse
To cook our food, keep out the cold
Sometimes disrespect hurts our earth
misusing gas, coal and liquid gold
Water, the staff of life, cool pleasure
A plaything, a necessity most needed
The central core of every endeavor
Common now, it’s case is not pleaded
Some things God gives with no regret
Some come of faith, hard work and sweat
