Unbroken and Endless
It is autumn my love and the leaves are falling,
burnt orange, red, and brown are drifting here and there;
the squirrels and chipmunks run wild from stone to stone,
and hidden birds are singing loud in the golden trees.
I walk a familiar path winding,
with feet that know each curve;
and each crack in the pavement,
until I stand silent.
I touch your name deeply engraved,
with a love unbroken by death;
endless has been my devotion for all these long years,
for you have always dwelled within my heart . . .
Our vow of love is still unbroken, I have loved only you always,
meet me at heaven's gate my love- for my time is soon;
my days are few.
