Forgiving

I've been told the
soul-spot a sin
though, myself, yet not 
convinced such smudge
my own relation – and to err
is human, and to forgive
Divine...therefore I forgive,
even if that protagonist
The Sublime....

When we forgive, our hearts grow lighter and get freed of the heaviness of hatred and revenge.... ! Though the person who hurt us may not be redeemed, in course of time, he might turn into a friend. So there is double advantage in forgiving...

For sure, Valsa; I have had friends families and society despised. I never give up, even when wisely compelled to keep distance. The door is left open, as I believe God never let's entirely go.

Forgiving does not ever say, what was done is now OK ................ .. Its hard to forgive, your poem was an eye opening to the mixed emotions it takes to forgive. Great poem Joe

No, it does not. Forgiveness, does not condone evil. What it does say is, I win, and not you! For I am not attached to your evil by grief and a lust for vengeance. Forgiveness can be Freedom!

Hi Steven; thank you. For sure, to forgive is paramount. I may not be able to control my circumstances at all times, but I can control how I react to a great degree, though pain often distorts the best of our intentions. Many would disagree with me, but I would condemn no one to an eternity in hell. My own opinion, far less wisher than God, but I like to imagine, not so different.

Hi Sunshine: I know, easier said than done. Sometimes takes a long time. Best for each of us if forgiveness done before we leave this earth, for we take with us all affirmed by our hearts. Let that heart be free of painful damnation. Blessings my friend.
