Forgetfulness
All bound in love ~ all the goodness
I had wrought
was still upon the edge
the worst that I have fought!
The dredge
and wondering why, did ask
forgetfulness of hurt
~ was such a task!
Ne'er seine the diadem of choice
that I might alter my true voice
an arching, not of destiny, but force
the good that still prevails ~ endorse!
The fathering of fate, the populus goal
while mine, endearment, guides my soul
as to the balance ~ intercept
the good and evil, both have wept!
That joy denounce the evil God has kept
my praver in retrospect ~ His care
that so arrive within His gate
not swear to either ~ too innate!
To further vestige, last and without hate
while plying love for goodness under-rate,
It be forgetfulness that must be weight
upon the bridge of time's relate!
Where neither binds the fool's abate
nor seals up love . . . too tight to mate!
