Forest Sadness

Sacred ancient forest A stately meandering oak Betrayed by sassy sycamore His acorns dried up Despondent, disappointed, discouraged Forest felt their rift, betrayal, chasm Ancestral voices attempted unification From Xanadu to a savage place From sensual to seething From love to hatred The hurt was deep Anger wound round the forest Trees began dying at their roots A sand and lonely death
