For You, My Love
She feels like the rain-
open and omnipresent.
He feels like the fire-
contained and dampened by her.
She feels trapped in her words,
And he strolls in his silence.
She walks blind
Not knowing when to turn
or take a step back.
He barges in with his reasons,
and knocks her cane off.
She fumbles with despair,
He- with his whispers.
She dances in mad circles,
chasing memories,
He walks on straight lines-
building beliefs.
She spends all her days
lying under the tress-
smiling, waiting for the emptiness of the fall.
And he spends all his nights
counting faces, making conversations,
Until he has known them all.
