For All the Years
For All The Years
(Quatrain)
After a life's long journey where is
an old man to go after the many years,
white-haired and penniless, weak and slow
left all forgotten with sigh and fears?
What is a an old man to do when his family
he cared for, worked hard for all the years through
do not remember that his back and hands are worn
what is there left for an old man to do?
What is an old man's reward in his life
leaving him unsteadily and scored
giving to others , his children and wife
there seems nothing left for an old man to do.
If he could stop his heart from breaking,
stop the memory from all life's pain
ease life's heavy load and aching,
he shall not have lived his life in vain.
