Football On Tv

Unless it’s Super Bowl, I don’t Like football on TV When there’s a gathering involving Friends and family. When someone else is in control There’s nothing you can do But listen to commercials And the game when it breaks through. Any conversation ceases And whoever’s in the room Gets bombarded by the nonsense Some enjoy, I would assume. If the purpose of the party Is to watch, I will not scoff And I’ll join the viewing; otherwise, The TV should be OFF!

Gosh, I agree with you and the poets below. The game moves too slowly, and all those re- runs, boring. "The TV should be off" I agree Ilene, it is more fun to be on Poetry Soup.

My husband's family only talked as fast as they could during commercials; it was the oddest thing I had ever experienced.

Love the last two-lines of the second verse, but I thought everyone had devices to record events and playback when convenient? Aloha!

Oh, I wholeheartedly agree. I find TV football so tedious. They show the same play so many times, and I never know what's really happening and what's a rerun. When I have company there's no TV even if I miss a favorite show.

My state is crazy when it comes to the big game. Alabama, Auburn, and pretty much any SEC game is going to be good. But the idea of missing a nice afternoon outdoors? Not going to happen! Football is a rainy day even, and that's when nobody is over at the house. 100% agree!!!
