Flute

sound cuts through the midsummer air like a sharp knife cutting a cucumber the chanting begins Sitting here on the Lower East Side I listen to a mystical recording Peace in the urban scene is not always easy to find But with the sound of a flute and a nice volume of verse I have made this evening in the asphalt homeland something to remember Some days are like exploding fireworks Some are like dripping molasses This evening the sound from my stereo reaches outside my window A stranger passing by may pause for a moment and be taken away by the power of the flautist.

I often find myself turning up the volume and getting lost in the music on a slow day.... I really enjoyed your wonderful poem, Matthew. A nice relaxing and smoothly flowing write!

more than your flute is touching the masses making days drip like "molasses" Mr. Anish, plz take my word on something...I am currently reading a great deal of your poems, as they have caught my eyes, and arrived at my view with much recommendation. I've read a few of yours before, and enjoyed them. Now the reading has been turned up a notch. I will not be commenting on many of them due to time constraints. Perhaps I will go back and try to give thoughts on some. So far Im thoroughly impressed!
