Flower With Thorns
When plagued with frustration angst and despair
I must come out from dooming failure’s pit
As full-blown flower, to heaven I stare
Since from life’s thorns, I can’t have my exit!
Being God’s design of peace-purity
I exude grace and pardon's abundance
Exemplifying this truth’s verity:
Thorns complete roses’ beauteous appearance.
As flower blooming midst blest stewardship
I strive for blissful service endeavor
Trusting the Lord* toward praise-filled worship
Midst thorns testing my conquering fervor.
Life indeed is not a bed of roses
Yet faith in Christ softens thorn-filled crosses.
*Psalm 112:7 He shall not be afraid of evil tidings: his heart is fixed, trusting in the LORD.
