Flickering Through My Heart
Flickering here and there through my heart
Sparks of you, like a firefly in the night.
Exciting the childlike joy within my dreams.
You came in a moment and left as quickly.
Flickering your friendship once upon a time.
Weaving in and out among dark silhouettes.
Sparkling smooth talk with burnt out promises
Left behind in the dark of night remaining memories.
Remembering those fleeting sparks,
Erratic moments interspersed between glimmers.
Yet I still look fondly upon the days of childhood.
Those wonderful times when fireflies filled…my joy.
