Flashes of Paradise
Vines climb to the canopy
poking through a sea of mist.
And revel in the sunlight,
where their leaves get gently kissed.
Papua New Guinea's jungle
boasts shades of emerald green.
And amidst its rolling hills,
fly birds few have ever seen.
Flashes of paradise fly
in and out of mortal view.
And flaunt such vivid colors,
your eyes can't believe their true.
Feathered booms vibrate the air,
drumming a seductive beat.
And birds morph into dancers,
performing with painted feet.
Iridescent colors shift
into red, blue, green, and gold.
And this outstanding pageant
is breathtaking to behold.
