First Common Cold

A swathed October,
With freckled bundle of leaves
In a child's fingers—
How warmth is supposed to be,
The ground for a bassinet.

Very interesting metaphor for October swathed like a baby. I quite enjoyed this older poem of yours, Paige.

What a cozy poem. When my family lived in Vermont, my kids loved jumping in the leaves. This poem reminds me of those 'kid happy times'. "The ground for a bassinet" Perfect. I enjoyed how your first, second and last line go together, "swathed in their freckled bassinet". Such clever enjoyable imagery and personification of nature. What fun to read.

Oh this is quite a profound write, made me feel so much! The October thoughts for me are really in sync with your words here.. It can also be perceived in a way when melancholic or nostalgic emotions of coldness surround our aura and we yearn for warmth to embrace our hearts.. A beautiful write definitely, loved reading this!

I love how uved used that word freckled! Clever! And also how uve written ur thoughts on october, and ur title goes so well with what uve described here as finding warmth as coldness creeps in. And common cold! Is a clever thing to say, made me think of how we also catch cold during autumn. Uve nailed it beautiful soul! Keep shining
