Finding Home
A proud tree’s branches reaching up, out and wide
In the sun’s golden glow warm and bright
Will quickly fall ill and not long abide
When deprived of its brilliant sunlight
A graceful tree thriving in sequestered shade
So tranquil, at peace and composed
Will promptly wilt and shrivel and fade
When to stark sunlight it’s harshly exposed
Some of us tend toward the loud, warm, and bright
Others, drawn toward hushed contemplation
Which path is wrong and which path is right?
It’s our choice and our destination
Here’s to friends, peace, and another poem
And may we find the true bliss that calls us home
