With your smile, You colored me in light Brilliant like a song, Whistling through the night Reflecting all that is joy, Miracles and wonder Proof that you’re fully alive As gentle as the beautiful light With your hope, You arranged for me to feel Everything that is so very real, Laughter, blessings, peace Dreams that bring me grace, Music that sings of praise, Feelings that can never erase The light that you shine When you give me your sun With your soul, You breathed astonishment Into my faith, my quest For a love that would bring Out the best that I am, The heart that lives inside me, The feelings that survive Worries and fears, doubt That leaves me so lonely and gray, Like a prayer that hasn’t been prayed A feeling that is never felt, A way that never comes to say… You, my friend, are the blessing I longed for – when I longed for grace
