Final Embrace
Inspired by Edvard Munch's The Kiss IV
My humanity bound to your caress
Heart and mind a tangled mess
Passion and insanity we did compound
To your caress my humanity bound
The emptiness I hold, the absence of you
Held in love yet pain cuts through
My heart breaks in ways untold
The absence of you, the emptiness I hold
Drawn to you still, even as I leave
As I sink into your arms I grieve
My longing for you I can't distil
Even as I leave, drawn to you still
We feel everything in this final embrace
Your every line my fingers trace
I hold you, love you, to you I cling
In this final embrace we feel everything
