Feathered Edges
I try desperately
to hold onto my thoughts
the randomness
of early morning pondering
A cryptic magnificent
sort of wandering
A self awareness
soul sort of laundering
Seeking my peace
forgetting about conquering
Dreamy edges
feathered almost blending
The dip between now and forever
seems never-ending
I feel gossamer thoughts
ripping instead of stretching
Yet on my brain
the droplets are collecting
as they flood a mind
with thoughts interconnecting
none of them at all
Were what I was expecting
I feel each moment
glowing brilliantly
Why I ask
does the candle melt so quickly
Healthy and strong
may give way to sickly
Prowess and strength
making way for inability
Perhaps weakness
connects us to humanity
Within our dependency
we join mankinds fraternity
On a staircase leading
to the precipice of eternity
Although I try to grasp it
I blink and turn away
No time left this morning
to ponder and stay
There is work to be done
So I'm swept away by the day
A man of dust made from clay
who knows God formed me
Still I don't make time to pray
Despite my failings
God loves me anyway!
