Fear of Love
Love so inviting
Until the icicle formation
Of tears suddenly returns
So sharp, so cold, so clear
Fear drips slowly into the mind
With impulse to run far away
Much easier to be alone
Until it melts as it may
Never knowing if trust will emerge
With the next sunrise,
Hoping, waiting to see
Trying to hold onto reminders
Not each one is the same
And the love so inviting
Will remain
