Fear

Fear for me, was running for my life When I spoke out about my past People chasing me down… While I watched corrupt people take a Lieutenant’s life Running for my safety, watching my back As they wanted to silence me again Fear is also wrapped up in continual nightmares Waking up frozen in terror, heart pounding, sweating I have had them my entire life, from trauma in the past Filled with fear I had as a child, when they tortured me When they took my voice, silenced me, threatened me --- Again, fear of losing my life --- I know the depth of fear and what it has taken to face it To get through it, to fight, to flee, to do everything… --- To Create Safety --- Heidi Sands 8/28/17

At least it is not every night, Joseph, but consistent, through life, yes. Trauma replays like that, with PTSD. Thank you for your compassionate comment on this :)

Fear, indeed drags out, into adulthood for the affected child. Nicely done, Heidi!
