Favorite Shoes
A rising, young starlet named Ruth,
Unaware that it was uncouth,
Wore sneakers and socks
With her formal frocks,
‘Til Miss Manners taught her the truth.
Designers now over their shocks,
Are thinking quite out of the box.
Though they are annoyed,
They are duly employed
Sewing diamonds on argyle socks.
