Father's Day Tribute To My Dad

Father's Day Tribute To My Dad So many Father's days that you and I can not share so very much has happened that I needed you there My first time learning to drive that 'ole truck my first job , sweating so hard to make a buck! Strange new feelings after my first real date somebody to help me when I got her home so late A shoulder to lean on when I lost my first love a loving hand to often give me a much needed shove! Words of wisdom when I faced losing my great job gentle mercies spoken when I finally broke and sob Steady influences to curb my very wild young ways your love to hold so very dear all my earthly days! The awesome joy of the birth of my first beautiful son the shared happiness of my house build finally done Shared journeys of our treasured families happily living the great blessings you were always so joyously giving! On this forty-fifth Father's day desperately missing you I thank God for the fifteen loving years shared , we two Knowing you are looking down with prideful ,loving heart two spirits and loves joined together are never truly apart! Robert L. 06-01-2014 Forty -five years now and rarely a day goes by that I do not still greatly miss my Dad. He was truly one of a kind and a very loving and generous man.. Greatest man I've ever known..

Thanks very much Andrea... Yes, my died from pancreatic cancer in 1969 when I was barely 15 years old. It totally destroyed me until I was 27 years old. I grieved so desperately deeply. Punished myself like a demon too! lived like a wild man hating much of the world. Eventually healed . My Dad was truly an amazing man. Could I ever even be half the man he was I'd feel miraculously blessed!!!

Thank you my friend. Very sorry to read you missed out on such a great blessing. My father was indeed a one of a kind that loved all his eleven children and prayed not for his life on his deathbed but for blessings to rain down on ours! Sadly, I very late in life started living up to his expectations!

Thanks my friend. I too , still have my Mom thank God!! She is 86 years old and not in good health but still able to get around and still able tell we kids how wrong we are on occasion! The lady holds nothing back when teaching her kids no matter their ages! Your comments are greatly appreciated..
