Far Wiser

Far wiser than philosophers
are writings penned by our
ambassadors of Laugh ~ our men
and women esteemed for
Comical Gaff – Let's float our 
politicians such raft; let's give our 
academics such draft: far less feces 
would enrich every thesis....

I've been helped more by humor
than any aspirin or vitamin, best 
when the three are combined – 
I've been filled more by feast,
then the words of a priest, for hunger
a potent distraction – 
I have learned more from my wife
than an entire library....never quiet
enough for me to read.

Blessings ~ Debra Login to Reply Joe Dimino Date: 4/7/2022 10:45:00 PM I remember (50 years ago) being down and out, seated in the back of an empty church on the lower side of Manhattan (New York) ~ praying, having screwed up as usual, asking God for new direction, telling Him, at least I hope I make you laugh once in awhile -- shortly afterwards, I spent a dollar on a lottery ticket that brought me back 5,000. I have no answers.

I don't watch the awards for this reason ~ too many of them are immoral lunatics. Ila watches, because she has designed clothing, and is interested in seeing what the actresses are almost wearing. I think they need to stop serving drugs and alcohol at those types of affairs. I would never again watch anything with Smith, Goldberg or De Niro in it for this reason, using star status to defame and ridicule other celebs and politicians. Could not pay me enough. My favorites, I know, a real dinosaur, has always been Laurel and Hardy. They hurt no one...and one could argue, made this world a far happier place for all -- God broke their molds unfortunately.
