Far Away
You,
are not here.
I wish that you were.
The morning is bright,
like when we were little,
and there is a rooster crowing.
He will not stop,
until all are awake.
Can you hear him?
No.
Probably not.
But I wish that you could.
Mom is moving in the kitchen.
She is making breakfast.
Pancakes...
Can you smell them?
No.
Father died,
he could not face the empty place,
your being gone created.
Does that matter?
No.
The day is cold,
there is frost on the windows,
winter is here.
Is it warm where you are?
Is it pretty?
Are you okay?
No.
