Fall's Demise

On the cusp of the gloaming,
frigid air turns crystal clear.
And frost-covered window panes
assume an icy veneer.
As the seasons slowly shift,
Autumn colors fade away.
And saddened by Fall's demise,
light no longer favors day.
A sad, melancholy moon
rose to mourn a bleeding sun.
And with feelings of pathos,
questioned what the Night had done.
Wild and unpredictable,
brisk breezes began to bite.
And Winter snows seemed content
to paint everything in white.
