Falling to Earth

I just walked past all the rain stranded worms on the pavement yesterday Not stepping on them but believing their path to soil or beak was mapped out That it was just the way it should be There was just one today Possibly one that was plucked from the ground but fell back to earth Unfortunately/fortunately landing in the wrong/right place So I picked it up and carried it to a garden And that's the end of that story

Such a move may have set in motion a change in the evolving direction of the entire world...and you thought your action was inconsequential mmmmmm. Seriously, a cute and thoughtful little poem DD, enjoyed.

Thanks Paul - that fluctuation between hope and hopeless without a sense of the bigger picture fascinated me in the moment. The previous day trudgery may have lead to death or salvation. Yet the next day a moment of terror returned everything idyllic

This is so cool. A worm's fate determined by a human.

Funny, I do this myself. Fate is so strange. Not many people write about something like this in such a kind and informative way.

Thanks Duke, I suppose it's an insight into how we can change things when from the inside looking out it would seem it was all over

Lucky worm. I liked this poem of a good deed to the least of us.

Thanks Hilda, it's such a shame when they get stranded

This is a beautiful story about survival. The laws of nature, and about a beautiful compassionate lady who is kind and thoughtful to all God's creatures, and it was told in 8 lines, not 8 chapters. My friend is such a clever poet! Loved it D. An amazing poem. Wen

You're cute Wen! I was just walking back from school contemplating fate and feeling a bit guilty I hadn't saved any worms the day before. Definitely a sub text but also a true story x thanks for your comment x
