Falling
Galaxies hang like candles in the sky,
a cuirass for the moon
shining bright and full,
moonlight piercing the inky clouds.
Through it a face traced
with starlight sinks below,
a heavenly visage
fashioned by timeless stardust.
I would fight and bleed for
those radiant golden eyes,
laugh, cry and pray
for the smile that graces your lips.
She crashed through the skies of my universe
Falling like an invincible meteor
Into my dreamscape,
breathing life into my trembling corpse.
She cradled me in her arms
guided my shaking hands.
Together, we restored every planet,
rebuilding my cosmos from scattered shards.
But she would always remain the brightest star
even as I fell back into my cycle of days and nights,
a beacon of faith,
the dawn shadow that I always chased.
The only star I anticipate,
even worlds apart.
On the glassy ocean surface
the waves and wind turmoil our story.
I have fought and bled and wept and prayed
In the darkness, I have risen
A beacon ignited by passion.
She soared out of my universe,
leaving it limitless,
an intangible cosmic dancer
swept away by fate.
I circled every planet to regain her
until I looked within
and found that faith
kindling the fire of my heart,
even galaxies apart.
