Faith Or Fate

I will pray again today Not in church, or park bench Not in Tibet, nor indigenous forest But in a nursing home, with the "affluent" We need some thing more than ego Our national pride, flags, stories, logo To feel human again, as defenders of youth And children raised money for legal moves Heartwarming when a man would be King here Another man, saved from suicide, shares books A new kind of meditation, rejecting "High Religion" For each claims TRUTH, and creates division Along race, color, sex, nation: that old addiction Yes, I cannot pray in Church today When children are ripped from parents' arms But I love the elderly, the sick, away from homes They seem ready to love, forgive, give, receive welcomes

Have to agree with you --- Those in the nursing home who aren't consumed with pain or fear of pain can be so receptive to real faith, a true, blended connection with mankind and with God. Can't separate the two. ~ Gershon Wolf
