Fairy Touch
I fell asleep on the hammock,
I slept soundly through
Till a strange touch awoke me.
My eyes opened wide
As I tried to cling to the hammock,
But I couldn’t feel it.
I felt the soft moist of moss,
Curled into a warm bed.
A wreath of greenery encompasses me,
Tiny fire flies dance about.
But more was the light coming from my side,
Where a fairy sat next to me.
She wore a shimmering green dress
With silvery cobwebs in her sleeves
And garlands of flowers upon her hair.
Her cloak – silvery blue – trails behind her,
Like a waterfall and its twirling clouds of mist,
And her eyes as black as stone.
She took me about
In this green paradise,
Showing me all its unlimited beauties:
Misty forest canopy, giant waterfalls
Gem-like birds and rivers with glittering gold.
Finally, came a steep climb:
To the edge of a steep cliff.
A panorama of the green paradise,
Upon which she sadly sighed,
And shook her head.
Later that day,
She took me back to my bed of moss,
She lay me down and sang me to sleep.
I fell asleep on that bed of moss,
Till a fairy touch awoke me:
Safe and sound in my old hammock.
