Fading Finger Memories

I'm starting to get the tan back Where the ring used to be Losing the reminder But not the memory I'm sure that too will makes it's move To fall off my minds grid But we two both know the truth Who am I trying to kid I might have forgotten your birthday Or at times our dinner plans And our anniversary often escaped me As I blamed it all on being a man But I do remember the good times If I remember anything Even as the tan line Fades from my fingers memory

Depending on one's interpretation, this could be sad or sweet. If you had simply lost the ring, it would be sweet, if this was your explanation., Mike. I see it as being sad although most folks continue to wear their rings long after the other has passed. My mother wore her wedding ring til the day she died. My dad has been dead for over 20 years. I really liked this one!
