Faces, Faces Everyone

Bright yellow capsules approach The daring step forward Eager to launch. The timid slowly shuffle New sneakers hesitant To join the fray. Parents contain cautious doubts. The doors close The capsule rumbles away. Slowly a murmur Becomes chatter Leads to laughter And…….. “the wheels of the bus…” The driver smiles And sighs. ©8/25/2022 Back to School Poetry Contest
