Notes About The Poem

for Unseeking Seeker's Eye of the Eye Poetry Contest

Eye of the Eye

Line of Inquiry: What is that awareness by which each body-mind feels alive and becomes aware?

If spiritual you desire to be,
behind your body’s eyes you need to see.
The Brow Chakra you can awaken.
Then light of the third eye you can take in.

Open your single eye with violet visualization,
entering between your eyebrow; use meditation -
breathing and chanting AUM while focused on the brow.
There are many people out there who can show you how.

Seek guidance in this practice and have gratitude,
along with mindfulness – the best attitude.
The pineal gland is the seat of your third eye.
Treat it well; don’t let it calcify.

Fluoride consumption will have a bad affect
if the seat of your third eye you wish to protect.
Deep is the consciousness you can achieve
if to worldliness you refuse to cleave.

Very impressive poem gave me numerous things to ponder, plus it tells me you've read about meditation and chakras to some extent. I see you placed and I see why!

Congrats Andrea on your win! Quite a few Religious symbols you have used to bring home your message! Did not quite understand your Flouride view? Fluorosis is bad- but in general flouride keeps our teeth protected and we need it.

I found in my research of the third eye that flouride was bad for it. Also here in the states , many states are now taking flouride out of water supply. There are pros and cons to it. Thanks , Krish

You seem to know some of the lndian yogic practices of awakening the inner spirit through meditation, chanting of AUM and thus awakening the chakras. Through third eye, we can visualise what we cannot see with our external eyes. Well written, Angela.

Thanks. I know from what I read on Google and what I have seen portrayed in movies

Lovely, beautiful spiritual enlightenment. If I may be allowed to add, always surround one's self with Divine Light, fill one's self with Divine Light before entering the Silence. And let God do the work...never the "I". Attempted Purification of Self and surroundings is a metaphysical must. Myself far from purified admittedly...but I do keep working at it. To those that celebrate Easter, wishing all a blessed Weekend.

Personally I don't think I have it in me to practice this beautiful meditation. I am a restless person who can barely make it through a church meeting. I give you kudos for understanding and able to practice this type of enlightenment.

Looks like you have read up on Eastern religions, Andrea. It reads like a good contender to me. Way to go. Sara K

This is indeed very philosophical. Best for a win. And a Happy Easter.

The quintessential quatrain, very philosophical and descriptive, Andrea. Your arguments never stray from the line of enquiry. I enjoyed it, Howard

Thanks. I am very matter of fact. And that often gets me nowhere with some judges. But we are what else are ( except for the poets using AI, haha )
