Everything Seems Different Today
I realize I was lifeless before today
Going through the motions
But empty and lacking passion
On standby waiting
Yet trying to keep up
I didn’t fool anyone
Let alone you
I could tell you were disappointed
You expected more
Because you had caught that glimpse
Of what was once there
A potential waiting to blossom
You had seen it and
As time passed by you thought
I was letting that too wither away
But I feel so totally different today
Like buoyancy exudes
From my every pore
Beams of clarity from my eyes and
Rays of compassion overflowing
From my very heart
There’s no turning back
Today was life transforming
Maybe even a rebirth
