Everything Gray
Lights burst before my eyes
Encapsulated by shimmering shine
The clouds whisper lies
Of beings devious and devine
In my heart is a bevy of emotion
For the creeping shadows a feast
They only want my devotion
To transform me into a beast
Crawling among shifting sands
Thoughts roll down my cheeks
Scabs and cuts scar my hands
I've been at it for lonely weeks
Trees like to dance in the wind
Breeze that freezes my fingers together
Fleas in my hair I don't have time to tend
Please I'm suffocating in this weather
And when the lights fade it's all gray
Okay I thought it must be worse
But this is the way things will stay
For that is my deserved curse
