Everyone Wanted a Piece of Her

Everyone wanted a piece of her, so they took them. Her legs were gone. Her arms were gone. Her chin was missing. Someone had taken one cheek. She reluctantly said good bye to her head. Wondering if her heart would be enough.

I read the title and my mind, in the gutter as usual, couldn't conceive of such a tender poem to follow. Shame on me and good for you! :) gw

This reminded me of a quote which states that "your naked body should only belong to those who fall in love with your naked soul". I like the way you portrayed your thoughts. Short, simple, powerful- great.

Thank you Ann. I was actually thinking about how women keep giving and giving and giving and giving and giving.
