painting what he saw   grimy surroundings became     philosophy with brush and pen just someone who cares seeing not streets but the       living anonymous people scurrying back           and fro  yet       not free     just on the go trapped by circumstance love         marriage and the like each day,  busy         worker ants automatoms almost     and never free

Interesting work. I like the part starting with the line trapped to the end. There was a song years ago that said, "Strings, strings how they tie me down." Then something happened like maybe he had a heart attack or some major illness and he said, "Strings, strings how they lift me up." Sara

So often, this is terribly sad truth. Good write. So often, especially this past year, people are really going through a lot. Sometimes it's hard to even 'see' others because we get so wrapped up in our own pain or lives. He 'saw' them. That is a gift.
