Evening Song

As the crickets sing and the wind joins the melody blowing leaves around, This evening’s sound calms my soul as if anchored to shore from a long journey The wind chime methodically rings, beating like my heart inside As everything merges together to create a beautiful evening song Nature celebrates the end of the day in a special way under pale white skies The trees move in a dance, swaying back and forth in a fluttering motion Everything else around remains still, seeming to listen just as I am While this calming chorus resonates deep within my being here and now And my hope is to carry this into tomorrow, the next day and the next Heidi Sands 9/16/20
